History of Advertising General 1950 - 1970 It’s a sad truth that when it comes to television, the advertisements are often more entertaining than the actual programs themselves. This 2-DVD set gives a fairly complete panorama of the first decades of television advertising. Lots of the ads are classics. Others are a good reminder that television standards have changed a good deal over time. For example, did you know that cigarettes were once advertised on television? Another entertaining ad tries to convince children to eat Cheerios and drink V8 juice at the same time.
A lot of the ads were shot by the Jam Handy organization, which for a while was one of the most famous production houses in the country. There is a good mix of color and black and white clips. The most interesting one is probably when people break into song in order to sell Lucky Strikes.
Customer Review: Content is KING!!!
I purchased the History of Advertising Bundle Pack that contained this DVD. I love this product because it gives the historical content that lets you draw your own conclusion. Its perfect for a student.
